We say it all the time: "How can I get my business to the Next Level?"
What is the next level?
Do you know what level your business is on now?
Do you know where you are taking your company?
Do you know how you are going to get there?
Level I:The Producer
You are responsible for the daily production of the company. Revenue flows directly from your personal efforts. All employees perform tasks that you assign. Strategy and tactics are luxuries that you put aside until after hours.
(TAB Entrepreneurs' Board)
Level II: The Entrepreneur
You have employees who handle routine production under your supervision. They make the product or deliver the service as you direct. You may have a few employees who make sales calls, but you still have direct responsibility for major customers.
(TAB Entrepreneurs' Board)
Level III: The Manager
You have a layer of supervision between you and at least some of your employees. You do not directly hire or terminate everyone in the company. Your focus is on administrative tasks, including budgeting, cash management and productivity. You have defined some structures and guidelines, which allow others to make decisions that are in line with your wishes.
(TAB Presidents' Board)
Level IV: The Specialist
You have defined your role in the company according to what you prefer or what you feel it is that you do best. Managers have both authority and responsibility for other functional aspects of the business. They manage according to systems you have developed or approved.
(TAB Presidents' Board)
Level V: The Executive
You are not involved in day to day activities of the business. Your time is spent interacting with other executives, networking, and raising the company’s community presence. You manage largely by report. You allocate resources to management, and determine organizational priorities. Systems are developed and implemented without your direct input.
(TAB Chairman & CEO Board)
Level VI: The Strategist
You decide the direction and the vision of the organization, and others figure out how to make it happen. You are responsible for anticipating trends, identifying market opportunities and approving tactics that compliment the strategy and culture you have developed for the company.
(TAB Chairman & CEO Board)
